Job Title: Policy Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Policy Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Access to Justice business unit, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing policy and legislation that enhances access to justice for all members of society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policy and legislation to support the sector and ensure the progression of legislation that enhances access to justice.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders including Legal Aid and community legal centres through the implementation of the National Legal Assistance Partnership agreement and other funding arrangements.
  • Contribute to the development of legal policy to support the sector and ensure the progression of legislation that enhances access to justice.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or significant study towards gaining qualifications.
  • Experience within a justice environment.
  • Experience in developing and managing programs is also desirable.
