The Verandah Precinct is a premium dining destination in Sydney's CBD, offering an exceptional culinary experience for both casual and formal gatherings.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chef De Partie to join our kitchen team at the Verandah Precinct. As a key member of our culinary team, you will work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and Restaurant Manager to deliver high-quality dishes that showcase our commitment to excellence.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Menu planning and preparation in collaboration with the Head Chef and Sous Chef;
  • Preparation and cooking of premium dishes according to menu guidelines and recipes;
  • Presentation and garnishing of dishes to ensure visual appeal;
  • Service preparation, including garnishes, ingredients, sauces, and sides;
  • Receiving, recording, and accounting for supplies and deliveries;
  • Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and adhering to food safety standards;
  • Assisting in training junior chefs and trainees;
  • Monitoring and maintaining kitchen equipment;
  • Controlling portions and waste;
  • Providing excellent customer service and promoting a positive, professional approach;
  • Opening and closing the kitchen; and
  • Running a section within the kitchen.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A passion for cooking and creativity;
  • Trade qualifications (Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery);
  • At least 2 years of experience in a restaurant kitchen;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities;
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment; and
  • A thorough understanding of food safety standards and HACCP.
