Super Retail Group is one of Australia and New Zealand's largest retailers, with four iconic brands under its umbrella. We're on the hunt for a talented Data Solutions Specialist to join our team on a fixed-term contract.

As a Data Solutions Specialist, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and documenting data product and service solutions on our core Data & Analytics Platforms (AWS, Snowflake).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the design of data solutions and data products in collaboration with business stakeholders and the Data Platform Team.
  • Breaking down solutions into work packages and tasks for data engineers, data testers, and BI developers, and overseeing the review of solutions to ensure they meet design specifications.
  • Developing data models, ingestion pipelines, and data products.
  • Continuing the uplift of SRG's data platform by establishing a data lake capability, data classification program, and enhancing semantic models to use/integrate with LLM's and BI Reporting.

This role is a senior member of the Data Platform team, playing a key role in shaping SRG's data and analytics capability.

**Requirements**

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience with database schema design and dimensional data modelling (Kimball), including understanding of medallion architecture.
  • Proficiency with AWS services, including IAM, S3, KMS, and creation of cloud infrastructure using Cloud Formation, Terraform etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with Snowflake data cloud and Databricks (future state platform).
  • Advanced SQL scripting and data modelling skills.
  • Development experience building data ingestion pipelines, data automation, and ELT/ETL solutions.
  • Experience with large data volumes and design/development of performant data models with BI tools.
  • Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps.
  • Familiarity with semantic layer architecture and tools for Business Intelligence and self-service reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong customer focus.
