We are a dynamic food importer and distributor seeking an experienced Meat Slicer to join our team. The butcher is a vital component of our meat wholesaling function, responsible for maintaining stock, supplies, and inventory while upholding rigorous food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining superior hygiene, health, and safety standards in a fast-paced environment
  • Reporting any changes in food quality to management
  • Cutting and trimming meat with precision and accuracy
  • Operating complex meat-slicing machinery safely and efficiently
  • Weighing products with attention to detail
  • Slicing and packaging meat to exact quantities and standards
  • Maintaining all equipment in good working order
  • Identifying new customer accounts and business opportunities
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, the successful candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial butchering environment
  • Relevant trade qualifications as a butcher
  • Demonstrable knowledge of food safety standards and protocols
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Energetic, proactive, and customer-focused attitude
