Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead one of our mobile maintenance teams. The role will involve ensuring maintenance is executed to a high standard and aligned with strategic business needs.

About the Role

The Maintenance Supervisor will play a crucial role in day-to-day operation of the mine. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders in mining, engineering, and planning, you will be responsible for safe and efficient execution of maintenance. You will lead a team responsible for routine and planned maintenance as well as priority corrective maintenance on all plant and equipment at the mine.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively maintain high expectations towards site safety standards.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders within the mining and maintenance teams to provide the best outcome.
  • Provide leadership to your team, setting clear expectations, upholding accountabilities, reviewing performance, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to procure necessary parts and equipment for repairs.
  • Identify and implement continual improvement strategies in safety and technical matters.
  • Report incidents, hazards, near-misses, and non-conformances and participate in incident investigations.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A mechanical or electrical trade certificate and/or tertiary mechanical/electrical engineering qualification.
  • Previous HME maintenance supervisory experience within an open cut mining environment.
  • Heavy plant maintenance experience: draglines, excavators, haul trucks, ancillary equipment, and drills.
  • Knowledge of relevant mining-related legislation.
  • Ability to make data-driven risk-based decisions.
  • Strong frontline leadership skills with effective written and verbal communication.
  • Previous exposure and experience with a maintenance management system.
  • Completed or willingness to complete Effective supervisor training.
