Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Control Systems Specialist to join our team at a leading manufacturing facility in Ballarat.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of control systems that ensure equipment reliability across the site.

You will play a critical role in supporting production, quality, and spoilage reduction goals, while leading capital projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues
  • Manage site industrial automation systems - PLCs (AB, Omron), SCADA (Ignition)
  • Manage breakdown response and corrective actions
  • Oversee inventory and procurement of control system supplies
  • Installation and commissioning new equipment and systems
  • Develop business cases and capital project proposals

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or relevant Electrical Trade Certificate
  • 2-5 years' experience with strong ability to work with others
  • Strong background in PLC and automation programming
