Job Title: Disability Support Specialist

The role of a Disability Educational Support Officer is pivotal in creating an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.

This position requires working closely with students to provide tailored support, ensuring they can access and engage with their coursework effectively.

  • Provide in-class support and/or individual assistance to students with disabilities
  • Assist with learning activities, note-taking, scribing, or using adaptive technology
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and the Student Support Services team
  • Contribute to developing and implementing individualized learning plans (ILPs)
  • Maintain accurate records of support provided
  • Promote inclusive practices across the learning environment

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in an educational setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A relevant qualification in disability support, education, or a related field (desired)
  • A current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Willingsness to travel to multiple locations/campuses
