We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Product Designer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing product concepts and project specifications, including reference drawing packages, to collaborate with internal design and manufacturing teams. This will involve working on products such as vehicle awnings, fridge slides, batteries and mounting trays, solar panel solutions, shower/awning ranges, and other innovative products.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for 4WD camping, outdoors, and automotive applications, with strong hands-on mechanical knowledge. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for modelling components, assemblies, and simulating manufacturability is essential. A solid understanding of 3D scanning technologies to capture vehicle geometries for accurate modelling in design software would be beneficial.

Beyond technical skills, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and teamwork skills for cross-departmental collaboration and delivering designs remotely and in person. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design is preferred but not required. Experience in project management would be beneficial to effectively lead and coordinate product development initiatives.

Requirements include a minimum of 4 years' experience in mechanical product design, preferably in automotive or outdoor equipment sectors, with a senior-level ability to take ownership of projects. The candidate must be able to travel to our Asian office and factories as required, with flexibility to accommodate urgent project needs. Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work rights for Australia is mandatory.
