Job Overview

A leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead their Mechanical Engineering team. The team specializes in electromechanical equipment, including starters and generators.

The successful candidate will oversee mechanical design and development, lead critical projects, provide technical direction, and collaborate with multiple departments to support new product development, research efforts, and proposal activities.

This role requires a strong leader who can communicate effectively with senior leadership and ensure designs meet safety, quality, and manufacturability standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead project execution and communicate progress and risks to senior leadership
  • Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and manufacturability standards
  • Manage multiple product lines across various mechanical disciplines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, testing, supply chain, and quality
  • Handle team resource planning, recruitment, training, and development
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support market success
  • Identify technology gaps and develop innovation roadmaps
  • Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in product design and manufacturing
  • At least 2 years managing engineering teams
  • Strong leadership, communication, and technical problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in GD&T and core mechanical engineering principles
