Job Overview

The primary objective of this Data Center Area Manager role is to oversee the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all global infrastructure.

This position requires collaboration with hardware and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles across AWS to deliver high standards of safety and security at low costs.

The successful candidate will serve as a technical resource and leader within Amazon data centers, ensuring overall availability and reliability meets or exceeds defined service levels.

They will be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee critical physical infrastructure in the data center, ensuring high-quality work without impact to internal/external customers.
  • Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians in all facets of their career.
  • Engage in improvement projects, driving them from conception to completion by reaching out to various support teams.
  • Coordinate daily with third-party vendors to ensure adherence to contracted SLAs.
  • Effectively manage operational expenditures.
  • Operate as the after-hours on-call Data Center Facility Manager for the data centers in the region.
  • Respond to issues within the data centers, managing the investigation, mitigation, and recovery of the issue(s).
