Senior Investigator Role About the Role

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in investigation and compliance, with experience in regulatory or law enforcement environments. This position requires excellent negotiation and mediation skills, particularly when dealing with high-conflict situations.

You will be responsible for undertaking complex investigations, reviewing contested infringement notices, and enforcing Council By-Laws and relevant legislation within the municipality.

Your key responsibilities will include providing guidance, supervision, mentoring, and support to rangers in their job requirements relating to investigation work.

In this role, you will deliver high-level investigation and complaints management service provision to Regulatory Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations into complaints and alleged breaches of legislation.
  • Provide expert advice on regulatory matters and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and resolution of issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Criminology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in investigation and compliance roles.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing high-profile investigations and resolving complex disputes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation.
