About the Role

This exciting opportunity at Uniting AgeWell Strathdon seeks a Spiritual Care Specialist to provide spiritual and pastoral care to residents and their families. As part of our interdisciplinary care team, you will contribute to the holistic care model at leadership level at the Residential facility.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing individual spiritual and emotional care for residents and their families
  • Conducting spiritual care assessments and regular electronic documentation
  • Leading worship and connecting with spiritual leaders from various faith backgrounds as needed
  • Small group work and offering guidance/education to staff regarding spiritual care
  • Participating in key meetings on site and active participation in Chaplaincy Network with other UA Chaplains in Victoria and Tasmania
About You

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • Compassion, initiative, and a genuine interest in enhancing the life and wellbeing of people as they age
  • The ability to identify, assess, and provide for the emotional, spiritual, and religious needs of residents, aligning with the Australian Aged Care Quality Standards and UA Spirituality Framework
  • CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) minimum 1 unit or equivalent training and experience in pastoral care
  • Formal theological qualification/s preferred
  • A commitment to working within and promoting the ethos and values of the Uniting Church
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to pass a national police clearance

We offer a salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, and a range of benefits that make Uniting AgeWell a desirable employer.
