About the Job

We are seeking an exceptional Linux engineer to join our IT operations team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the server and storage infrastructure that supports our trading business.

This includes overseeing trading systems colocated at global exchanges running on overclocked servers, FPGAs, and low-latency network hardware. Our environment includes a range of physical and hypervisor platforms, on-prem SAN/NAS storage (Hitachi, Dell, HP), as well as cloud storage and cloud compute. Precision timing systems ensure accurate synchronisation essential to our trading operations.

What We Need From You
  • You have 5+ years of experience in a similar role, bringing a deep understanding of complex environments and high-performance systems.
  • You are detail-oriented, proactive, and able to think several steps ahead, spotting issues before they escalate.
  • You possess strong reasoning skills and can adapt solutions on the fly.
Responsibilities
  • Ownership of Linux server and storage environments
  • Manage hardware lifecycles, plan capacity, and build high-performance systems
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise outcomes and troubleshoot issues
  • Continuously improve automation, monitoring, metrics, and backup strategies
