About the Role

The Finance Analyst is a key member of the AGL team, responsible for the preparation of financial planning and reporting processes. This role provides insights and support to a broad range of stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze annual budget cycles, quarterly reforecasts, and monthly management reporting.
  • Partner with various business units and teams to propose improvements to systems and methods of work and analysis.
  • Assist with the coordination and delivery of the AGL annual budget, four-year plan, and quarterly forecasts.
  • Identify and drive initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale forecasting and reporting tools, processes, and improve the reporting of financial information to management.
  • Assist with the preparation of AGL half-year and full-year reporting requirements for external stakeholders.
  • Assist in analyzing AGL progress towards a range of market targets and initiatives.
  • Provide specialist input to support key finance and business initiatives.
  • Add value by acting with key stakeholders' interests in mind, establishing and maintaining effective relationships, gaining trust, and respect.
Requirements
  • CPA/CA qualified (with at least one-year post-qualification experience).
  • Demonstrated experience in providing financial analysis support to business management.
  • Energy or Utility industry experience will be beneficial, though not essential.
  • SAP experience will be beneficial, though not essential.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen to understand the dynamics of a complex industry.
  • Ability to understand, utilize, and improve sophisticated accounting and reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated high-level analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex problems, identify issues, and apply analytical, qualitative, and research techniques to develop strategies and improvements.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and confident in engaging with stakeholders at different levels.
