Our organization is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Environmental Conservation Specialist.
Key Responsibilities:- Support and facilitate environmental conservation efforts through various programs, including the Voluntary Conservation Agreements Program and Land for Wildlife Program;
- Provide expert advice on environmental matters to stakeholders, including Council Officers and Community Leaders;
- Implement and manage the Land for Wildlife Program, including organizing events and managing incentives;
- Develop and implement conservation strategies in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
You will have demonstrated expertise in natural ecosystems, including flora and fauna identification skills. A strong understanding of threatening processes impacting biodiversity values and the strategies needed to address them is also essential.
You will possess excellent communication and project management skills, which will be key to delivering positive outcomes in partnership with our team and the community. The ability to negotiate on-ground outcomes with private landholders is crucial.
