Dispatch Coordinator Job Description

We are looking for a highly organized and effective Dispatch Coordinator to join our team.

The Responsibilities Ahead
  • Oversee daily truck loadouts, ensuring all runs are dispatched by 7:30–8:00am.
  • Step into a truck when needed—covering absences, peak demand, or extra runs.
  • Coordinate driver schedules, provide support, and manage on-the-fly changes.
  • Utilize Outlook, Excel, and shared run sheets for daily planning and reporting.
  • Assist with inventory coordination, dispatch administration, and basic warehouse tasks.
  • Become a key person for problem-solving when things don't go as planned.
  • Open the branch early (starting between 4:30–5:00am) and set the tone for the day.

  • Lead by example, not job titles—happy to assist drivers or handle deliveries.
  • Remain composed under pressure and don't shy away from unexpected challenges.
  • Take pride in getting the job done and supporting colleagues.
  • Understand that excellent service drives business success—you're a coordinator, but also a customer advocate.
  • Have growth ambitions, but focus on delivering now before reaching for the next step.
Key Requirements
  • Essential qualifications: MR licence (and willing to drive runs when required), physically capable—able to lift up to 20kg; must pass medical and police checks, comfortable with early morning starts and leading from the front, confident with Excel, Outlook, and warehouse systems (training provided), reliable and trustworthy—you'll often be the first in the build.
  • Nice-to-have skills: Forklift licence (preferred, but re-licensing can be arranged if previously held), experience in the chilled food, FMCG, courier, or logistics industry, familiarity with WHS, food safety, and basic people coordination.
