Community Family Engagement Specialist

**About This Opportunity**
This role will see you working with schools and families to support children in attending primary school. You will be responsible for promoting the School Attendance Support Program within your designated areas.
Key Responsibilities- Screen, intake and assess families referred to the program.
- Engage with families waiting for allocation, maintaining regular contact and providing necessary support.
- Deliver brief intervention support to families that do not meet the full eligibility criteria or where the program is at capacity.
The School Attendance Support Program focuses on supporting children and their families to improve attendance rates. It involves identifying barriers to attendance and offering early interventions to encourage change.
Required Skills And QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you will need:
- A degree in social work, psychology or a related field relevant to child and family welfare.
- A good understanding of the 'Best Interests' framework and the Child Protection system.
- Knowledge of child development and experience working with challenging behaviors.
- Demonstrated insight into barriers to school attendance and related issues such as family violence.
