About Our Laboratory Technician Role

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in laboratory technology and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, utilizing technical expertise and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician Position
  • Perform manual and automated diagnostic testing, adhering to quality assurance processes
  • Ensure accurate specimen storage and retrieval, maintaining chain of custody
  • Maintain equipment, operate machinery, and perform routine maintenance tasks
  • Accurately record and maintain laboratory data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Assist with stock control and inventory management
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information and adhere to data protection policies
About You and Your Qualifications
  • Diploma of Laboratory Technology, Associate Degree, or equivalent qualification is required
  • Previous laboratory experience, preferably in diagnostic testing, is desirable
  • Ability to adhere to policies and procedures, demonstrating a positive attitude and goal-oriented mindset
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively are critical
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety and quality assurance processes is mandatory
  • Previous Pathology Laboratory experience is desirable but not essential
Vaccination Requirements
  • Evidence of vaccine-preventable diseases such as Hepatitis B is required
  • Other vaccinations may be required based on location and setting
