The Opportunity

We're seeking a highly skilled Product Development Technologist to join our Research & Development team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in developing new product concepts and improving our core product range. Your expertise will help us create innovative and high-quality products that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and commercialization of new product development (NPD) and materials productivity projects.
  • Assist with pilot plant trials, including ingredient weighing, product blending, filling, and processing, managing finished samples, and organizing sample shipping.
  • Maintain pilot plant inventory by sourcing materials, ensuring traceability, and proper labelling.
  • Conduct shelf-life and sensory testing, and perform analytical testing on ingredients, WIPs, and finished products.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of projects and trials, update systems, and support supply chain, procurement, and planning initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related science field preferred, with technical knowledge in product development, thermal processing, and sensory assessment highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or hospitality desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, and problem-solving abilities for effective decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in email, spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), and word processing (Microsoft Word).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, a proactive approach, and a passion for food and science.
