Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Food Technologist to join our team at Job2Go Pty Ltd. As a Food Technologist, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing the quality and safety of dairy products. This position involves research and development, quality assurance, and compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Development:
a. Develop new dairy products and improve existing product lines to meet consumer demand and preferences.
b. Collaborate with the HACCP team to design and implement production processes that ensure product quality and safety.
2. Quality Assurance:
a. Conduct regular quality checks and product testing to ensure all products meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
b. Monitor the production process to identify and rectify any deviations from quality standards.
3. Food Safety Compliance:
a. Ensure compliance with the Food Act 1984 (Vic), the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, and conditions set by Dairy Food Safety Victoria.
b. Prepare for and oversee food safety audits, ensuring all dairy processing activities are in compliance with the approved dairy food safety program.
c. Respond to corrective action requests by auditors or authorized officers in a timely manner.
4. Innovation and Research:
a. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in dairy processing and food science.
b. Explore opportunities for innovation in dairy products, focusing on traditional and culturally significant products for the Indian community and beyond.
5. Supplier Relations:
a. Collaborate with dairy farmers to ensure the supply of high-quality milk, advocating for fair pricing and sustainable practices.
b. Assist in evaluating and selecting milk suppliers based on quality parameters and production capabilities.
6. Team Collaboration:
a. Work closely with the HACCP team and report directly to the Director/Manufacturing/Food Safety Supervisor.
b. Provide technical support and training to the production and quality assurance teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in the dairy industry, specifically in food technology, product development, or quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles and food safety standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
