Empowering Spiritual Care

This is a key role in delivering high-quality care, understanding and valuing each individual as a whole person.

You will work under the guidance of a senior leader to utilise your expertise, coach staff and volunteers to support the emotional and spiritual needs and goals of patients, their families and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate care and support to patients, relevant families and staff.
  • Be the point of contact for internal and external support/referral services.
  • Act as a role model for staff and advocate for the organisation's values.
  • Share pastoral expertise and coach staff to support the spiritual needs of patients.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care plans.
  • Facilitate carer support groups and network with other religious leaders.
  • Develop tailored resources to enhance spiritual wellbeing.
  • Liaise with managers and staff, training them on spiritual care and wellbeing.
  • Lead memorials, special services.

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding and experience of people living with life-limiting illness, grief and bereavement.
  • A personal and active Christian faith and church involvement.
  • Theological or pastoral care qualifications and experience.
  • Palliative care experience (desired).
