About the Opportunity

We are seeking a caring and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Cootamundra, Murrumbidgee Region. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of our customers.

The successful candidate will have a minimum 1 year experience in the Disability industry, with previous manual handling experience and the ability to develop positive relationships with our customers. They will also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster, and a current Driver's Licence.

About the Role

This casual support worker position involves providing individualised support to our valued customers in Cootamundra. The role may include:

  • Supporting customers to develop and maintain independence.
  • Providing personal care, including bowel care, peg feeding, catheterisation, and other health and hygiene issues.
  • Performing various household tasks, such as menu planning, cooking, and serving meals, cleaning, shopping, and other activities of daily living.
  • Implementing behaviour support plans to support individuals who demonstrate behaviours of concern.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Desirable: Min 1 year experience in Disability industry (specifically support work)
  • Previous manual handling experience in the Disability industry.
  • Experience supporting customers with psychosocial disability, dementia, Intellectual disability, Acquired brain injuries, epilepsy, and behaviours of concern.
  • A demonstrated commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs of our customers.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with our customers and to support their individual care plans, as appropriate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster; you will be required to work across morning, afternoon, and active night shifts, including weekend and public holiday shifts.
  • A current Driver's Licence.
  • NSW Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • NDIS Worker Check.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain).
