Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner to join our team in Fraser Coast, Queensland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing culturally appropriate and holistic healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.

Our client is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) committed to improving the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Fraser Coast region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing culturally appropriate healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans
  • Conducting health checks, screenings and immunisations
  • Delivering health education and promotion programs to the community
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A formal qualification as an Aboriginal Health Worker or Aboriginal Health Practitioner or working towards
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the healthcare or community services sector
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, health beliefs and practices
