The Role

We are seeking an experienced Application Security Engineer to join our Cybersecurity Team. As an Application Security Engineer, you will be responsible for leading product security and application security initiatives, ensuring that security is integrated into every aspect of the software development lifecycle and deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguarding applications based on modern software architecture patterns such as Microservices, Single-Page Application, and Serverless
  • Ensuring secure coding practices to avoid common security vulnerabilities like SQLi, XSS, and CSRF
  • Utilizing security testing frameworks and platforms like OWASP ASVS and Snyk
  • Securing applications in cloud and containerized environments
  • Protecting CI/CD automation pipelines
  • Securing APIs
  • Developing threat models and facilitating workshops with developers and solution architects
  • Performing penetration testing and application vulnerability scanning
  • Implementing SAST, SCA, DAST, and IAST application security testing tools

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and/or 5+ years of Software Development experience together with demonstrated experience as an application security engineer or equivalent.

Competitive Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum

About You:

You should have a passion for cybersecurity and a desire to make a real difference in the industry. Formal security certifications are desired but not essential. Examples include Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or related secure coding or offensive security certification.
