At KPMG, we're seeking a talented individual to join our Indirect Tax team as an Expert in Indirect Tax and Advisory. Based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, or Perth, this role will play a crucial part in delivering advisory engagements for clients across diverse industries.

About the Role

This opportunity involves:

  • Executing and leading the delivery of indirect tax and GST advisory engagements for clients with a global reach.
  • Developing and implementing indirect tax compliance solutions, leveraging data analytics, system implementation, and robotics process automation.
  • Aiding in responding to reviews, resolving disputes, and investigations with tax authorities.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to report on engagement outcomes.
  • Leading junior team members, mentoring, and providing professional development.
  • Supporting the growth of our future practice, developing strong relationships with clients and internal KPMG stakeholders, identifying opportunities for future business, and shaping our future indirect tax offerings.
Your Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A deep understanding of Australian GST at the Senior Consultant or Manager level, with the ability to effectively communicate your expertise to clients.
  • Knowledge of GST, from advisory, compliance, and technology through to audits and disputes, ideally gained in a consulting firm environment or in-house role.
  • An awareness of the Indirect Tax market, including emerging trends across key markets and in tax technology, suitable for a Senior Consultant or Manager position.
  • Experience in transactions/deals work, or in relation to indirect tax governance, processes, or controls, would be highly valued.
  • You may also be at a consultant level and have a willingness to transition your career.
