Cloud Architect

We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Architect to lead the design, development and migration of applications to Microsoft Azure in a high-security environment.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in building cloud architectures and standards to support Azure adoption, collaborating with solution teams to ensure alignment with enterprise Azure architecture, and leading the migration of legacy applications to cloud-native environments.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop cloud architectures and standards to support Azure adoption
  • Collaborate with solution teams to ensure alignment with enterprise Azure architecture
  • Lead migration of legacy applications to cloud-native environments
  • Provide architectural consulting to business relationship managers, IT leadership and solution architects
  • Establish governance models and ensure compliance with security, privacy and networking policies
  • Analyse large-scale, complex, cross-system changes and assess their impact on architecture and security
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to align cloud strategy with organisational goals
  • Deliver presentations to management, clients and technical teams
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of existing IT architecture, infrastructure and technology portfolio
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline – Desirable
  • Microsoft Azure certifications – Highly desirable
Skills Required
  • Proven experience designing and implementing public cloud services for enterprise use
  • Strong understanding of holistic cloud architecture frameworks and vendor integration patterns
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, plus experience with AWS, Google Cloud or other major platforms
  • Experience migrating legacy solutions to cloud environments
  • Thorough knowledge of cloud infrastructure, application design and security best practices
  • Familiarity with service design and pricing for cloud-based solutions
  • Experience in proof-of-concept development, prototyping and building reference models
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in multi-stakeholder, multi-location teams
