Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of a secure, resilient, and high-performance private cloud environment on Google Distributed Cloud (GDC). This role requires expertise in private cloud technologies, government security frameworks, and exceptional leadership skills to guide design discussions and mentor technical teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end architectural design for the government private cloud, ensuring alignment with program objectives, business requirements, and technical standards.
  • Translate customer requirements into concrete, actionable architectural designs, including performance, scalability, resilience, and stringent security and compliance mandates.
  • Produce comprehensive architectural documentation to support successful implementation, operation, and evolution of the private cloud.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in solution engineering or architecture.
  • 5 years of experience in stakeholder management, professional services, or technical consulting.
  • 3 years of experience in system architecture and reading code (e.g., Python).
  • Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing projects in customer-focused and changing environments.
  • Designing for Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) accreditation.
  • Application of government security frameworks and standards, including the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and Essential Eight.
  • Experience in a consulting or lead architect role on large government projects.
  • Understanding of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) environments.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools and principles.
