About the Role/Person

As a Senior Coal Mine Operations Manager, you'll provide strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring to underground crews. You'll be responsible for supervising mining operations at Cook Colliery and ensuring the safety of our people while meeting production targets. To succeed in this role, you'll need to visibly demonstrate the behaviours that reflect our company culture - The Mastermyne Way.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain a safe and productive mining environment;
  2. Contribute mining expertise to the development of plans for major processes, including strategy, systems, sequence, standards, and timeframes;
  3. Apply statutory obligations;
  4. Communicate plans and issues to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner;
  5. Provide mentoring and coaching;
  6. Produce shift reports covering maintenance, production, outstanding planned work, equipment breakdowns, etc.;
  7. Highlight activities and issues for daily review meetings and updating the daily plan;
  8. Review and advise on the practicality and effectiveness of the daily plan.
Minimum Skills and Attributes
  1. Experience in Underground Coal Mining;
  2. Strong leadership and coordination skills;
  3. Second Class/Third Class Statutory Certificate;
  4. Previous experience in the role of Shift Undermanager or Deputy/ERZ Controller;
  5. A sound understanding of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act, regulations, and JSA's;
  6. Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
  7. A proactive approach to workplace safety and a commitment to keeping our people safe.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $120,000 to $180,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a range of benefits, including:
