Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Industry and Employment Specialist to join our team. This role will play a key part in strengthening local industry, particularly manufacturing, and supporting inclusive employment outcomes across the region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with local businesses through site visits and engagement, coordinating employment programs and partnerships, and supporting the delivery of an Employment Hub.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building relationships with manufacturing and other local businesses through site visits and engagement.
  • Coordinating employment programs and partnerships that promote inclusive workforce development.
  • Supporting the delivery of the Employment Hub, including stakeholder coordination and grant management.
  • Contributing to the delivery of South East Business Network programs and events.
  • Providing senior leadership within the team and representing the organization in external forums.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in economic development, business, employment services, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in industry engagement (particularly manufacturing) and delivering employment programs or workforce development initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills across diverse sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects and develop strategic partnerships.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and apply insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
