Job Title: Economic Growth Manager

About the Job
The Department of Treasury and Finance is seeking a highly skilled Manager to join the Innovation, Industry and Employment team. As a key member of this team, you will lead policy development to increase economic growth, employment, and wages in Victoria.

Key Responsibilities
Lead policy advice and guide the department's position to deliver economic growth, employment, and wage increases for Victorians. Develop the skills of team members by fostering a positive culture, supporting development, managing work prioritization, and ensuring high-quality work. Work collaboratively within the team to balance workloads, ensure staff well-being, coordinate work, and provide development opportunities. Initiate, manage, and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders, providing authoritative advice and representing the department's views at inter-departmental meetings and forums.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in economics, public policy, commerce, law, or a related field would be an advantage. A strong understanding of the role and influence of state government would also be beneficial. Strong communication skills, including conveying complex issues persuasively to senior executives in plain language, are essential. Experience in building relationships, shaping stakeholders' views, and supporting informed decision-making on complex issues is also required. Highly developed people management skills and experience that create conditions for a high-performing team are necessary.
