Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Heavy Diesel Technician to join our team in Townsville, QLD.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse range of heavy diesel products, attending to breakdowns in the field and conducting repairs and maintenance from our workshop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products and attend to breakdowns in the field, working on an on-call roster
  • First responder to breakdown events, providing timely and effective solutions to our customers
  • Conduct fleet maintenance, ensuring our vehicles are in good working condition at all times
  • Capture engine data, using this information to inform our maintenance and repair activities
  • Perform fault diagnostics, identifying and resolving complex issues with heavy diesel engines
  • Carry out a diverse range of engine repairs, both major and minor, using your skills and experience to achieve excellent results
  • Inspect and replace components as required, ensuring our equipment is in good working order
  • Engine rebuilding and reconditioning, restoring heavy diesel engines to their former glory
  • Work autonomously, managing your time effectively to meet deadlines and deliver results
  • Work in a great team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve our goals
  • Work with other major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), building relationships and identifying opportunities for growth and development

Requirements

  • Field service experience, preferably coupled with heavy duty engine experience
  • Relevant trade qualification (Heavy Diesel preferred but not necessary)
  • Strong engine diagnostic experience, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues
  • The ability to work autonomously, managing your time effectively to meet deadlines and deliver results
  • A genuine commitment to workplace safety, with a strong focus on risk management and compliance
  • A valid driver's license, with a strong driving record
  • Good interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers
