HammondCare At Home is continuously expanding its services, and we are seeking several permanent part-time professionals to provide essential support to our clients in the North Canberra area.

We offer a range of benefits, including a work mobile phone, paid travel time and kilometres. Our flexible scheduling allows for varied days of the week as well as start and finish times, with optional weekend loading.

About the Role

In this position, you will provide critical support to help older individuals maintain their independence at home, directly enhancing their quality of life. The role requires travel to clients' homes using your own car, for which you'll be compensated $0.99 per kilometre plus paid travel time.

The care work you'll be doing may include:

  • Providing personal care – assisting with showering and dressing
  • Helping around the home – meal preparation and light house cleaning
  • Providing transportation to appointments and assisting with shopping
  • Assisting with medication

About You

  • You possess excellent interpersonal skills, are patient and solutions-focused.
  • You may have prior experience in aged or community care or are looking to start your career in this field.
  • You hold a valid Driver's Licence and access to an insured, reliable vehicle (minimum Third Party Property Insurance).
  • Ideally, you'll have a Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support. If not currently qualified and interested in pursuing this, we can assist you in obtaining it.
  • You'll be adaptable to meeting the changing needs of our home care clients.

You will be required to undergo a Police Check, Functional assessment, provide two referees and evidence of minimum 2 COVID-19 vaccinations.
