About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Worker to join our team at KinCare in the Canberra area. As a Home Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our customers, enabling them to live independently at home for longer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide domestic assistance, including cleaning and maintaining a safe and beautiful living environment for our customers.
  • Assist with meal preparation and shopping, ensuring our customers have access to nutritious food and essential items.
  • Offer social support and transport to lifestyle activities, helping our customers stay connected and engaged with their community.
  • Provide personal care, including assistance with daily living tasks, medication management, and mobility support.
  • Offer respite and emotional support, providing a listening ear and helping our customers cope with challenging situations.
  • Transport customers to appointments, ensuring they receive the medical attention they need.
  • Provide complex care for customers with high care needs, including dementia support.

Requirements
  • 6 months or more experience in a similar role, including experience with personal care.
  • A current P1 class or above Australian Drivers License and a registered vehicle, as travel is a part of the role.
  • The ability to work independently and find solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask for help.
  • Availability to work at least 3 days a week, Monday to Friday, with no night or weekend work required.
