Job Title: Urgent Care Nurse

Overview: We are seeking an Urgent Care Nurse to join our team, providing high-quality patient care for injuries or illnesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering high-quality patient care for acute injury and illness management and fast-track patient flow.
  • Perform various care activities including history assessments, administering medications, wound care, plastering, and patient education.
  • Ensure all patient care activities are within scope of practice and comply with policies and procedures.
  • Support patient services by greeting and assisting patients, monitoring the appointment book, registering and updating registration details as required.
  • Provide guidance relating to inclusion and exclusion criteria over the phone as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked clinical area, completing administrative tasks such as Medicare billing, coding, and scanning documentation into patient files.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation in all patient files.
  • Participate in workplace health and safety practices, ensuring all incidents and hazards are reported according to policies.

Qualifications:

  • Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Must be flexible and available evenings and weekends.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Emergency setting, with a focus on acute injury and illness management and fast-track patient flow.
  • Direct clinical practice nursing care experience is mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle escalations, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
  • Patient-centered approach and strong interpersonal skills.
