You will play a vital role in ensuring all patients that present to the Urgent Care Service are identified as appropriate for the service, triaged promptly and provided with front line care in collaboration with medical practitioners.
- Triage of all patients who present to Urgent Care is essential.
- A comprehensive and accurate nursing triage is crucial in delivering high-quality care.
- Prompt action is required for any triaged patients requiring emergency escalation or due to deterioration.
- Performing procedural work such as suturing and plastering is a key responsibility.
- Flexibility and adaptability are necessary for working in a dynamic Urgent Care environment.
- Delivering high-quality, person-centered care in collaboration with patients, families, carers, and medical practitioners is paramount.
- Ensuring patients achieve desired clinical outcomes is a critical aspect of this role.
- Providing essential health education to patients is an important function.
- Accurate and timely completion of documentation is required.
- AHPRA Registered Nurse is a must.
- Experience in triage within an emergency department, remote nursing, or ICU is highly desirable.
- Ability to assess and recognise health deterioration and escalate appropriately is crucial.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a high level of critical thinking are essential.
