Job Title: Financial Accountant
Job Description:The role of a Financial Accountant is to provide accurate and timely financial information that helps businesses make informed decisions. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and identifying areas for improvement.
- Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate reflection of business transactions.
- Ensure transaction integrity of trial balance coding to maintain accurate financial records.
- Lead monthly reconciliation of payroll liabilities, tax balances, inventory, GRNI, and COGS roll over to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Review key GL accounts to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Support PAYG, payroll tax, Novated lease FBT submissions and GST/BAS preparation (Australia & NZ) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Work with external advisors on income tax reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate QuickSuper file approvals as required to ensure smooth processing.
- Audit Coordination & Statutory Reporting; primary contact for external auditors to ensure accurate and timely completion of audits.
- Assist in regulatory updates, audit prep, local project tasks, and one-off adjustments or write-off journals to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Professional Qualification: CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent to demonstrate expertise and knowledge in accounting principles.
- Experience: 5+ years in financial accounting, audit coordination, and compliance to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of AASB/IFRS, general ledger ownership, and control environments to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Systems: Proficient with ERP and BI tools to efficiently process and report financial data.
- Mindset: Self-starter, adaptable, solution-focused, able to manage shifting priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across finance, ops, and group teams to build effective working relationships.
