The NSW Department of Justice is seeking a Cyber Security Governance Leader to spearhead a critical body of work within the Information Services division.

This role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver outcomes that directly support NSW's cyber security resilience and compliance obligations.

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate cyber security governance frameworks, policies, and assurance activities.
  • Identify compliance gaps and collect evidence to demonstrate alignment with the NSW Cyber Security Policy.
  • Coordinate activities to meet key deadlines set by Cyber NSW.
  • Act as the primary liaison with Cyber NSW during the Assurance Framework Pilot.
  • Provide strategic advice, progress updates, and escalate risks to senior leadership.
  • Engage with technical and business teams to gather evidence and drive action.
  • Prepare high-level reports, briefs, and recommendations to inform decision-making.

  • Excellent communication skills, with experience preparing strategic reports, briefs, and advice.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of cyber security principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This is a temporary, full-time position for up to 6 months, with potential for extension.
