About This Role

As a skilled 3D mechanical designer, you will be an integral part of our team responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models for conveyor components. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and attention to detail.

This position involves working closely with engineers and senior designers to develop innovative solutions that meet client standards and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create accurate technical drawings at all levels, including layouts, arrangements, assemblies, and details.
  • Develop high-quality 3D models and details using input from the design team.
  • Determine factors such as tolerances, dimensioning, weldability, and ease of assembly.
  • Ensure designs comply with regulations, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Assist with field and manufacturing problems by providing expert design solutions.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline such as engineering or architecture.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, including Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a design role or related field, preferably in bulk material handling or heavy industrial/mining industries.
  • Bulk Material Handling or Heavy Industrial/Mining Industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of Australian standards, including AS4024, AS1100, AS1654, and AS1657.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A full driver's licence is preferred.
