About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sustainability and Climate Change Leader to join our team in QLD. As an Associate Director, you will be responsible for leading our sustainability consultancy efforts in the region, developing high-performance teams, and delivering strategic bids and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight and guidance on deliverables for medium and large-scale projects
  • Lead and manage our QLD team to achieve high-performance outcomes for our people, projects, and clients
  • Contribute to and guide project planning, project management, budgeting, and controls
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients
  • Establish and maintain WSP's leadership position in the QLD sustainability sector
  • Apply a deep understanding of sustainability/ESD principles to solve complex problems, particularly on decarbonization of infrastructure assets
  • Produce, review, and QA designs and reports to meet client requirements for projects
  • Lead and deliver client meetings and workshops
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering, environmental science, or equivalent sustainability-related discipline
  • Years of industry experience as a Sustainability Consultant or similar role, preferably in the infrastructure sector
  • Experience with best practice standards relating to decarbonisation (such as PAS2080, IS Ratings, and other bespoke tools and frameworks)
  • Experience with guiding, reviewing, and undertaking technical analysis covering various aspects of sustainability, such as energy, water, waste modelling, climate resilience, and life-cycle analysis
  • Ability to use complex theoretical knowledge and experience of engineering/scientific principles to analyse, interpret, and conclude project requirements and challenges
  • Passionate about developing solutions for a low carbon, sustainable built environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
