About the Role

This is a key position within the Healthy Children and Families clinical stream at NSW Health.

The Aboriginal Health Practitioner will be a valued team member and resource, providing insight into cultural issues for children and families in the region.

The role will act as a conduit for liaison with other community organizations, including non-government agencies and First Nations specific services.

The successful candidate will promote the value of the healthy children and families clinical programs across cultural networks within NSW Health.

Responsibilities
  • Provide culturally competent healthcare services to Aboriginal children and families
  • Act as a liaison between NSW Health and community organizations
  • Promote the value of healthy children and families clinical programs
  • Support staff in relation to best practice in culturally competent healthcare
Requirements

This is an identified position in accordance with Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

Applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
