The National Health Information Management Manager provides strategic leadership and management of health information services, health information systems, and clinical data governance across our national network. This role is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing health information services and systems, ensuring the quality, integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of electronic and paper medical records.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement health information strategies and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Oversee the management of health information systems, including clinical coding, data quality, and data submission to external parties.
- Lead the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders and other stakeholders to ensure the effective use of health information systems and data.
- Develop and implement training programs for health information management staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the health information management team to ensure they are working effectively to achieve the organization's goals and objectives.
- Bachelor of Health Science (Health Information Management) or equivalent.
- Eligibility for membership to HIMAA.
- Previous health information management experience, preferably in a leadership or management role.
- Strong technical knowledge of clinical systems and data governance principles.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
