Key Roles and Responsibilities

The primary goal of this position is to serve as the main point of contact for routine inquiries related to employment, policies, procedures, and benefits.

In this capacity, you will assist the Human Resources team in communicating policies and procedures to all staff members. You will also provide support and assistance to the Human Resource department in the areas of Talent Resourcing and Learning and Development, including Recruitment and Occupational Health and Safety.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Recruitment Support:
    • Assist with reviewing requisitions and managing the posting of vacancies on relevant platforms in accordance with established protocols.
    • Develop relationships with recruitment agencies, tertiary institutions, and job network providers to facilitate effective recruitment processes.
    • Coordinate and facilitate Assessment/Resourcing Centres to ensure smooth recruitment operations.
    • Collaborate with tertiary institutions to promote I Grad programs, including presentations at preferred tertiary providers.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Provide daily administrative assistance to the Human Resources team, including data entry tasks using Preceda.
  • Payroll Coordination:
    • Assist in the fortnightly payroll process to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Celebrate Service Week:
    • Coordinate Celebrate Service Week activities in conjunction with leadership teams to foster a positive work environment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Employee Survey Focus Groups and compile feedback to inform business decisions.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources Manager to facilitate training programs that enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor the Performance Review Cycle and support leaders in completing Check-in Conversations, Mid-year Reviews, and Annual Reviews in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate Careers Week activities and promotions in collaboration with leadership teams to inspire career development.

Guest Experience:

  • Partner with Brand Champions to co-facilitate BrandHearted training and enhance guest experience.
  • Prioritize internal customer care, focusing on efficiency and process improvements.
  • Attend and actively participate in Monthly Wheel Meetings and Hotel Daily Briefings in the absence of the HR Manager.

Financial Returns:

  • Contribute to the achievement of financial goals within the Human Resources department.
  • Extract reports from the People Management System regarding compliance and distribute them to Department Heads for follow-up (e.g., driver's license expiration, visa status, RSA certification).

Responsible Business:

  • Ensure the accuracy of Human Resources reporting and conduct regular self-audits, including LTO, Owner Reports, and EOWA.
  • Support the HR Manager in promoting and ensuring compliance with hotel and company policies and procedures, such as performance reviews.
  • Participate in coordinating and implementing programs that align with IHG's community engagement strategy and partner with community engagement organizations.
  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, including safety protocols, rehabilitation, fire emergency procedures, and evacuation procedures.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Risk and Environment Manager in maintaining WorkCover documentation and file maintenance.
  • Organize regular Responsible Business Committee meetings with representation from various hotel departments.
  • Engage in hotel activities, including community events and functions.
  • Communicate safety information to colleagues related to specific work hazards in their area.
  • Provide induction and refresher training to ensure employees can fulfill their workplace health and safety responsibilities, including hazard identification, risk evaluation, and control measures.
  • Provide new colleagues with induction training on health and wellbeing initiatives available to them.
  • Identify and evaluate hazards, design and implement control measures, and develop periodic updates to safety procedures specific to the work area.
  • Maintain plant, safety systems, and personal protective equipment required to control risks in the work area.
