Data Centre Design and Delivery Role

This is a rare opportunity to join the forefront of AI, cloud, and mission-critical infrastructure development. Our client is trusted by global hyperscalers and major multinationals. With significant capital projects underway, this team is expanding and looking for an experienced electrical design engineer.

  • Take a lead technical role in designing and delivering new and expansion data centre builds.
  • Report to the General Manager to help create and build a new team.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, clients, and consultants to deliver concept design, feasibility, and construction-stage support.
  • Embed customer requirements into engineering solutions.
  • Influence future site acquisitions and electrical strategy aligned with leading-edge technology.
  • Contribute to proposals and tenders while advising on redundancy and resiliency.
  • Conduct site inspections and support integrated systems testing.

You will be working with a highly skilled team designing and delivering world-class data centres that meet evolving client needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop innovative designs for data centre builds and expansions.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Manage external consultant and contractor work.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Contribute to business cases and proposals for new projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the General Manager to drive business growth.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years' experience in electrical engineering, expertise in LV & HV systems, UPS, diesel generators, switchgear, PDUs, STS/ATS systems, and power distribution. They also have knowledge of redundancy models, protection schemes, fault modelling, earthing, and system resiliency.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Deliver Data Centres: Develop and implement innovative designs for data centre builds and expansions.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Manage External Work: Manage and coordinate the work of external consultants and contractors.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Drive Business Growth: Contribute to the development of business cases and proposals for new projects and work collaboratively with the General Manager to drive business growth.
