
Shelter Operations Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a leader to head our animal shelter operations, focusing on delivering exceptional care and service. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in shelter management, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
About the Role: As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving continuous improvement, and supporting staff growth. You will collaborate with our Business Services Coordinator to achieve our goals and values.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the shelter operations team
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement
- Support staff growth and training
- Work closely with the Business Services Coordinator to achieve goals and values
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Manage animal care, impounding, rehoming, and customer service
Requirements: To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Certificate III in Companion Animal Services (or equivalent experience) and Cert IV in Leadership and Management, or 2 years of relevant experience
- Proven leadership skills and experience supervising a small team
- Strong shelter operations knowledge and experience managing animal care, impounding, and rehoming
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coach staff and engage with stakeholders
- High-level organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks and make decisions under pressure
- Experience with digital animal management systems and sound knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety responsibilities
