Position Summary :

This role involves constructing, assembling, installing, maintaining and servicing high-pressure hydraulic systems or components and associated precision engineering. It requires working in line with company safety plans, procedures and client requirements.

The position is responsible for ensuring all equipment is maintained and in good order to prevent breakdowns and stoppages. Routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures are performed on buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems.

Key Requirements :

  • Highly skilled technical and mechanical ability, with proficiency in use of all hand tools, machinery, diagnostic and performance testing equipment associated with high-pressure servicing, manufacture and installation.
  • Proven ability in high-pressure system maintenance and condition monitoring.
  • Proven ability in overhaul / recondition / performance testing of high-pressure components including fixed and variable displacement pumps and motors; open and closed loop systems; manual, solenoid-operated, proportional and servo valving; hydraulic cylinders; filtration; hose and pipe assemblies.
  • The ability to communicate knowledgeably and professionally with clients, suppliers and Company personnel.
  • Versatility and a willingness to learn new methods and product to suit changing technology and workshop demands is a requirement.
  • Knowledge of the industry with experience running excavation plant and equipment
  • Proficient use of iPhone, iPad and excel spreadsheets.
  • Has experience building effective relationships with clients and staff
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to analyse processes and ensure continuous improvement to avoid mistakes
  • A systematic approach to business operations to avoid mistakes and to report near misses
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to a high standard

Job Responsibility :

  • To be conversant with and adhere to the Company Core Values; Policies – including House Rules, ISO 9001:2008 Quality System requirements; OSH Regulations, and Client Safety induction Rules; all applicable legislation.
  • To complete work and records according to the appropriate procedure –
  • Timesheets / Time Clocking accurately completed daily.
  • Site Sheets and JHAs completed accurately.
  • Reports done efficiently and accurately on return to workshop or on job completion.
  • To carry out all work to the highest tradestandards.
  • To work as directed by Supervisor / Managers. Other associated tasks may be delegated to address work demand from time to time.
  • Ensure adherence to quoted and specified scope of work and component supply.
  • Fully familiarise with relevant Quotations, Job Files and authorised work before commencement.
  • To share knowledge and skills, and give advice to co-workers as necessary for the betterment of quality workmanship and production for the Company's clients.
  • At all times represent the Company in a responsible, professional manner when dealing with clients and the public. Report all issues to the Manager / Director.
