Job Description

As a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related developmental delays. You will work closely with our professional team in Melbourne to develop and implement individualised intervention programs that cater to the unique needs of each child.

Some key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducting initial consultations and assessments to identify the child's strengths and challenges
  • Compiling assessment results and developing tailored intervention programs
  • Writing progress reports and maintaining accurate client files
  • Training families in behaviour management and other necessary skills to support their child's development

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also contribute to the growth and progression of our organisation by participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Our ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor degree in a relevant field, BCBA certification, and at least 1 year of experience working as a credentialed practitioner. A strong understanding of evidence-based teaching practices and a passion for supporting children with ASD are essential for success in this role.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor degree
  • BCBA certification
  • At least 1 year of experience working as a credentialed practitioner

A strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder, behaviour management, and evidence-based teaching practices is also highly desirable.
