About Our Oceans

We are facing a critical moment in the history of our oceans. The impact of human activities is threatening their health and resilience.

Our vision is to return our ocean to a healthy thriving state, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14.

This role will work on a globally significant issue - the conservation and sustainable use of our ocean.

Your Responsibilities
  • Conduct a feasibility study on novel ocean finance mechanisms to progress our objectives
  • Create and implement a business case for finance techniques recommended through the study
  • Provide strategic advice on financial decision-making and investments
  • Lead the development of operational plans to deliver project strategies
  • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH KEY PARTNERS AND DATA PROVIDERS TO DEVELOP FINANCE TOOLS AND LEVERAGE OUR UNIQUE CONTRIBUTION
  • Engage with our program leads to leverage existing investments and further the initiative
  • Monitor and manage budgets; report project performance against planned objectives and milestones
Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in sustainability, sustainable finance, and/or sustainable investing & strategy
  • An entrepreneurial innovator with enhanced creativity, research, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and risk-taking skills
  • A background in ocean/marine science or nature/environmental science is preferred
  • Additional environmental NGO or corporate sustainability experience is an advantage
  • Understanding of impact investing, ESG integration, sustainable and green finance, climate risk, and sustainability strategy
  • Solid communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative analysis skills with ability to provide recommendations on sustainable finance options
  • Ability to translate complex topics into clear, comprehensible communication to a broad audience
