About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Care Specialist to join our team in Kalgoorlie. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to children who have been placed into our care.

In this challenging yet rewarding opportunity, you will work closely with children in a family group home setting, supporting their physical, emotional, and educational needs. You will be part of a dedicated care team committed to delivering exceptional outcomes for our young clients.

To succeed in this role, you must have experience working with children who have experienced trauma and demonstrate challenging behaviors. You will be supported by ongoing training and a larger care team.

The successful candidate will be required to work permanent full/part-time hours, including afternoons, weekends, and some active nights. The salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality direct support to children in our care, aligned with their individual needs and support plans.
  • Day-to-day care in a home setting, including support with daily routines, meals, and activities.
  • Establish strong relationships with children and their families to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver programs to support children, in consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the adaptation of LWB services as needed.

Skills & Experience:

  • A Certificate in Community or Children's Services (advantageous but not essential).
  • Ability to build rapport with children through shared interests and hobbies.
  • A current Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain during background checks).
  • A current unrestricted Driver's Licence.
  • A commitment to promoting the individual needs, skills, and abilities of the people we support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
