Job OverviewThis role is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of Indigenous communities in North West Queensland. As an Advanced Health Worker Renal, you will be working closely with clinicians to provide culturally safe and appropriate healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with kidney disease and those requiring dialysis.
The successful candidate will be based primarily in Doomadgee, where they will work across the North West Hospital and Health Services Renal Service under the guidance and support of a Clinical Nurse and Registered Nurse and other members of the Renal multidisciplinary team.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
- Hold a valid C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Be willing to travel to various facilities or units within the Northwest Hospital and Health Service.
This is a permanent full-time role available, 76 hours p.f. The base salary ranges between $75,090 and $103,261 p.a. (HWF3). Additionally, you will receive:
- One-year isolation bonus: AUD$3,500; two-year total AUD$10,500; third year and every year after AUD$7,000.
- Providing 2 return airfares p.a. (inc. spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with recreation leave.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
- Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual.
- Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are available.
The Doomadgee Hospital provides 24-hour acute inpatient and accident and emergency care. It is located in the far North-western corner of Queensland on the Nicholson River near the gulf of Carpentaria. The Waanyi and Gangalidda people are recognised as the Traditional Custodians of the area. This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis. Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks. Working with Children check may be required prior to appointment. A period of probation may apply.
