The Health, Safety and Security Manager plays a critical role in the strategic management of health, hygiene, security, safety, emergency and assurance related issues across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages, improves and provides expertise on safety risk management practices to improve organisational safety outcomes and performance.
- Responds to, manages and provides specialist/functional expertise on health-related risks to uplift organisational capability in health management.
- Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.
- Makes evidence-based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer-term business objectives.
- Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk-informed decisions, uses the organisation's risk management framework and builds a risk-aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
- Gains support for and negotiates outcomes that achieve mutually beneficial goals.
- Applies an understanding of the business context, operating model and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and value chain performance.
- Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.
- Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.
About You
To be successful as a Health, Safety and Security Manager, you will need:
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills with a demonstrated capability to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and community groups, at a senior management level.
- Well-developed and professional technical expertise from an informed practice in the HSE area.
- Tertiary degree in a health, safety, environment or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Detailed knowledge of key concepts, theories and practices related to effective management of HSE-related risks.
- Experience in or knowledge of the legislative environment would also be an advantage.
